How to Make a Rap About Yourself: A Fill-In Method

1. Pick the mood: brag, story, or a roast of yourself. One mood per rap.
2. Give each pair of lines one detail. Four pairs, four details.
3. Make each pair end on the same sound. Near rhymes count: “rent” and “spent”, “late” and “eight”.
4. Keep each line to one breath, about 8 to 12 syllables.
5. Write a two-line hook that says the whole idea plainly, then say everything out loud over a beat and cut what trips you.

• Fill in the detail list for them, and ask one friend of theirs for a story.
• Use their nickname and one thing they always do; that is the line people laugh at.
